Delicious Camping Recipes

Over the years I have collected a lot of camping recipes.

I have found some that we thought were good and there have been some real bummers where my family begged me to please don't make it again.

I won’t tell you about the bummers!

There is nothing like sitting around a camp fire, sipping your favorite beverage and telling some incredible stories (don't forget about roasting marshmallows).

Everyone loves to congregate around the campfire in the evening to talk about what they seen and did that day and to plan their next day.

The great thing about this is that the cook is right there with everyone so they are included in all of the conversations.

I don’t know why it is but campfire smoke gives a wonderful flavor to the food you cook. One of our favorite foods cooked on the open fire are potatoes and onions. I found a great recipe for them that take hardly any work at all. Of course you can fix potatoes any number of ways.

Spices For Your Cooking

When you are packing the food for your camping trip, don’t forget your spices! Most people don’t think about this.

Your food is going to taste pretty bland if you don’t use some kind of spice. Use them just like you would at home.

My favorite spices to take camping are of course salt and pepper plus garlic salt, onion salt, dried parsley and I also use a seasoning salt.

If you are going to fix any kind of beans be sure you remember the chili powder!
