Make This Easy Omelet With Foil

This is a very easy omelet to make when you are camping.

A lot of backpackers like it because you can make it with foil and you don't have to have a bunch of kettles.

Kids love to make their own because they can put anything in it that they like.

You wouldn't believe what some of the things my kids put in theirs (would you believe bananas or nuts)

Ingredients

  • fresh or powdered eggs
  • diced ham
  • cheese(shredded or sliced)
  • diced onion

Instructions For An Easy Omelet

Take 2 layers of foil and make a bowl with them. If your children are making the omelets you may need to make the bowl for them.

If you are using fresh eggs you need to place them in a regular bowl and beat them up. If you are using powdered eggs you can put them directly into the foil bowl.

After you put the eggs in the bowl add the rest of the ingredients. Place on the coals of the fire for a few minutes. It won’t take long for the eggs to cook with the rest of the ingredients.

Be careful when you remove them from the fire. Place the cooked mixture on a plate or serve with tortillas. The kids love to eat it right out of the bowl.

Hints

You can also use cooked crumbled bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes or even Oktoberfest. Just add anything that you like and enjoy.

This is a really great camping recipe for the backpacker.
