Lincoln City hosts an outdoor Kite Festival in the summer and fall plus and indoors Kite
Festival.
Kitelines Magazine has said the Lincoln City is one of the best places to fly kites in North America.
Toss your kite into the air on the Lincoln City Beach and the wind will take care of the rest. The mixing of warm equatorial air with the cold polar air creates ideal winds for outdoors flying.
The outdoor festivals are held at the "D" River State Wayside on the beach with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop.
In this unique setting, fliers and watchers enjoy family oriented kite flying competitions and displays.
People from as far away as Asia, Australia and Europe come to the Kite Festivals. The festivals draw thousands of visitors and flyers both amateur and professional.
