Relax And Explore Lincoln City

One of my favorite places on the Scenic Oregon Coast is Lincoln City. It is the most popular tourist destination on the Oregon coast.

It is a wonderful place just to relax and watch the ocean either from the beach of your motel.

The beach is truly just the beginning of your coastal discovery adventure.

The magnificent Pacific Ocean is on the west side of town and a lake on its east side. Lincoln City is known for its 7 ½ miles of broad sandy beaches.

You can go fishing and beachcombing, clamming and crabbing, hiking and biking, shopping and dining, monthly events, festivals, exhibitions and entertainment.

You can try your luck at Chinook Winds Casino. They also feature a full schedule of world famous entertainers.

Pixie Kitchen

Pixie Kitchen Some of my greatest memories were when I was a kid and my mom and dad would take us to the ocean.

My favorite place was the Pixie Kitchen. It was a kid’s paradise to act out in front of their crazy mirrors.

When my kids were small we would take them to Pixie Land. They would have the time of their life on the rides and exploring the buildings. It was very sad when they closed Pixie Land.

Devils Lake

devils lake There are so many things to do in Lincoln City. You can go hiking, fishing clamming crabbing and beachcombing.

The picture here is of Devils Lake which feeds “D” River. The river holds the record for the shortest river in the world. It is only 110 feet long.

This is a picture of a fishing dock on the south side of the lake. You can enjoy boating, windsurfing and fishing plus picnicking.

Places To Stay

There are many great places to stay in Lincoln City. Many of the motels have ocean views. There is all different price ranges so I know that you will find one that you like.

We like to stay at Cozy Cove motel. They have rooms with kitchens and they all have their own private balconies. Some of the rooms even have Jacuzzis!

The Casino also has a resort with nice rooms. If you belong to the winners circle club you get a discount on your room.

A more upscale place to stay while visiting the city is The Inn At Spanish Head. All of their rooms are ocean view and they have a great restaurant.

Kite Festival

Lincoln City has the title of the “Kite Capital of the World”. There is usually a breeze which is just perfect for kite flying.

It has an Annual Kite Festival, which is one of the world’s largest events.

You would be amazed at some of the kites. They are humongous!

Tanger Factory Outlet

Do you like to shop? Lincoln City has a wide range of unique boutiques as well as the popular Factory Outlet Stores. Who can resist them!

You can find everything from fashions, rare books, gourmet foods and beach mementos.

Country Home Magazine has chosen the city as one of the ten best places to look for antiques.

Glass Floats

Another great event in Lincoln City is the Glass Float Odyssey.

The Visitors and Convention Bureau hide over 2000 hand blown glass floats on the beach from October through May.

These are hand blown by some artists around the area. You get to keep whatever you find. It is a lot of fun to try and find them on the beach.
