Great Oregon Coast Camping

tent camping As far as Oregon Coast camping goes, you can’t beat it!

I have been camping at the coast for many, many years. I don’t think I want to tell you how many years but it has been a lot.

There is nothing like sitting around a camp fire, sipping your favorite beverage and telling some incredible stories (don’t forget about roasting marshmallows).

If you have never gone camping on the Oregon coast before, now is the time. I will show you all of the best places to camp.

There are also a lot of tips for camping and RV’ing. You can always learn some new tips and new ideas, no matter how many times you've camped. Some of the tips I have picked up over the years and some of them are from people who have sent them in to me.

Find tips here for Camping with Kids. Learn how to make your family outing safe, enjoyable, and memorable.

What if you don’t have a tent or RV?

Well guess what! There are Yurts and Cabins.

yurts A yurt is a round structure filled with comfy furniture, and pointy on top. Yurts … a quickly growing national phenomenon that broke in to the public camping scene right here in Oregon.

The great thing about yurts is that you don't need a tent or RV!

We have camped in tents, campers, and travel trailers. It depends on where you want to go on the coast. They are many great campgrounds all along the coast. One of our favorite campgrounds is Beverly Beach. You are right at the beach yet you are sheltered from the wind. The campground is run by the State of Oregon.

Another beautiful campground is Sunset Bay. It is located by Coos Bay. It is also right by Shore Acres historic site that was owned by Louis Simpson, a wealth lumberman. The campground is sheltered from the Pacific Ocean by a small cove. It is great for swimming.

There are plenty of places that you can camp. Most of them are state owned but there are a few private camp grounds.

Oregon Coast Campgrounds

There are many Oregon coast camping sites all along the Oregon coast. We have never been disappointed with any of the state parks. I will try and tell you about some of the campgrounds. There are still a few we haven't been too so I will tell you about them after we visit them.

Relax On The Scenic Oregon Coast.

It is so much fun to camp on the Oregon Coast. Along with the fun of camping there are many things to do.

You can go fishing, hiking, swimming, beachcombing, surfing or just laying on the beach and watch the waves.

It is so relaxing that you forget about your worries and just enjoy yourself.

Oregon Coast cabins & Yurts

The picture above is a typical cabin that you can rent at the State Parks on the coast.

Some of the cabins are real rustic while others have modern conveniences (like a bathroom).

You can rent either a cabin or yurt and have the time of your life.

I like to rent them because then I can use my car because all I have to take is my camping gear.
