There are many interesting things to do on the Scenic Oregon Coast. It all depends on what you are interested in. There are kite festivals, whale watching, beachcombing, tide pooling as well as just relaxing on the beach.
Don’t forget the many museums and Visitor’s centers where you can learn a lot about the area.
Maybe you would just like to comb the beach for glass floats. Lincoln City puts out more than 2000 glass floats every year on the beach each winter. You get to keep what you find and there is a possibility that you can win other prizes for finding one.
I have never been lucky enought to find one yet, but I keep on trying.
Gambling On The Oregon Coast
How about trying your luck. There are three casinos on the coast right now.
There is the Chinook Winds Casino Resort in Lincoln City, the Three Rivers Casino and Hotel in Florence and The Mill Casino and Hotel in North Bend.
I have not tried the new one in Florence yet but maybe someday I will.
I like the one in Lincoln City because I have won there a few times.
Whale Watching and Golf On The Oregon Coast
Don’t forget about Whale Watching. There are many places along the Pacific Ocean to watch for whales. Watch for spouting heads and tails and you will have an experience to remember. I remember when I saw my first whale. It is an experience that you will never forget.
Do you like to golf? Then you will enjoy one of the best golf courses in America at Bandon. There are many great courses all along the coast.
Oregon Coast Beachcombing
My Dad was a rock hound and we use to spend hours combing the beach for agates. We found a lot of them at Agate Beach just north of Newport.
You can spend hour’s beachcombing on the Scenic Oregon Coast. You can find all kinds of pretty rocks and seashells.
If you can get to the coast right after a storm you will be able to find all different kinds of shells and driftwood. I use a lot of driftwood in my landscaping.
