Yurts Are Great For Camping

Yurts are the newest and fun way to go camping. You use to have to have an RV or at least a tent in order to go camping. Well don’t worry. Now all you have to do is call and reserve one and you are on your way to having the time of your life!
Oregon State Parks developed them and they have quickly grown popular across the nation. Most of the parks along the Oregon coast have them now. They are trying to build them in all of the parks. They are 16 feet in diameter and sleep 5 people. There is a Futon that converts to a double bed plus a single or double sized bunk beds. There is also a coffee table.
The great thing about them is that they are heated and have lights and electricity and a locking door. There is also an outdoor fire pit and a picnic table.
Prices For Yurts
The great thing about them is the price. They rent from $27 to $30. I call that cheap! The best thing about that is the fun you can have. They are very comfortable and they even stay cool in the summer.
All you have to bring is your own bedding, food, dishes and basically the usual camping stuff Except for the tent or RV.
Just bring your camp chairs and you can sit around the campfire and tell all kinds of stories (weather they are true of not). Cook up some really good camping recipes and you have got it made.

Camping In A Yurt
If you have never camped in them before you are in for surprise. Most people just think of them as tents but they are not. They have a wood floor, beds, heated plus you have a lock on the door. They are a lot of fun and inexpensive.
Interpretive Programs
The really nice thing about most of the parks is they regularly have interpretive programs in their outdoor theater. They have different programs all the time and you can learn a lot about the area you are in and also about safe camping. There are programs that show you the different wildlife and plants in the area. It is a lot of fun and the kids love them. The picture below shows the screen that some of the programs and shown on.
